My "Statement of Purpose," as submitted for graduate school applications. I asked friends who are artists to participate in the writing of the text, either by contributing excerpts from their own artist statements, or by writing something specifically for mine. I did no editing to the content of the texts; they were combined with discretion only for a semblance of narrative cohesion. The authors are undifferentiated in the text itself.
